Rolling Wheels To Timber Trail

After the huge success of GRRides to the Pink City, a 230km bicycle ride , with 30 riders taking 14 hrs from Gurgaon to Jaipur on 14th May, GRR is here again spreading the message of protecting the environment through the path of fitness with “Rolling Wheels to the Timber Trail”. GRR is all set to bring a beautiful and courageous experience with the purpose to make our environment pollution free that would inspire generations to come.


The answer to your passion for biking is here. An initiative by GRR, "Rolling Wheels to Timber Trail", is a long smooth bicycle ride of 300kms from India Gate, New Delhi to Timber Trail from 16th Dec 2016 to 17th Dec 2016.


Event Highlights:

  1. Reporting time for the Ride will be 08am on 16th Dec, at India Gate, New Delhi.
  2. Ride will flag off at 09am on 16th Dec from India Gate, New Delhi.
  3. After every 25km(Approximately), riders will take a break for not more than 5-7mins for food and rest.
  4. The ride will have proper provision of security, safety, support vehicles and first aid.
  5. There will be a group of 25-30 cyclists with one lead cyclist for every group.
  6. Provision for refreshments and hydration throughout the ride will be there.
  7. Technical support/mechanics support will be provided throughout the ride. Though we expect your cycles to be thoroughly checked and in best conditions before the ride. We advise the riders to carry puncture kit and at least one extra tube during the ride. We will host a small technical session few days before the ride for all participants.
  8. This is not a race, the idea is to achieve 300kms distance together.
  9. Expected duration of the ride would be 18 hrs. We would reach Timber Trail around 9am on 17thDec.
  10. From 9am to 11am, 17th Dec, we will have Felicitation ceremony.
  11. Arrangements of transportation of the cycles back to the destination.
  12. One night stay in Timber Trails/Kasauli/Chandigarh (if participant may wish) for which bookings would be done by participants on their own.
  13. Post Ride Celebrations.
  14. Departure in AC coach bus from Timber Trail to Delhi would be on 18th Dec, Sunday, at 12 noon. We Would like all riders to stay together but in case riders are staying on their own, they should report for the departure to New Delhi at Timber Trail before 12 noon.

Prerequisites of the Event:

  1. A rider must be over 18 years as on 1st December, 2016.
  2. A rider participating in this event is expected to have ridden continuously at least half the distance(140kms - 160kms) during his/her training.
  3. GRR is conducting FREE training cycling bootcamps of 100km (22nd Oct.) and 200km(27th Nov.). It is recommended that the riders participating in this event should be a part of these training bootcamps.
  4. If a rider is relatively new to long rides and aspiring to do this ride, the time to start training is "Now".

Please Note: Route can be altered and changed as deemed fit by organizers before the race in case of any emergency/weather and road conditions.Tickets fee for the event is NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE. Gurgaon Road Runners reserves the right to disqualify a participant and to change the route without prior notice and at any time and at its sole discretion.


Instructions to the Riders

  1. The riders should stay in the group they are assigned. The lead cyclist(s) would ensure all riders move together in the group.All distinctive signs (jersey, armband, etc)or title (road captain) are not allowed. All riders are required to conduct themselves in a civil manner and abide by all applicable vehicle codes, laws, and regulations. All riders are required to respect local customs with regards to decorum. Remember, this is not a race and the idea is to finish the distance together.
  2. Rider must obey all traffic laws including stopping at stop signs and stop lights.
  3. Every rider must display his/her bib number prominently, both on himself/ Herself and his cycle.
  4. For night riding, vehicles must be equipped with front and rear lights attached firmly to the vehicle. Lights must be fully functional at all times (Spare lights are strongly recommended; spare bulbs are required). At least one of the rear lights must be in a steady (rather than flashing) mode. Riders not complying with all these requirements will not be permitted to start.
  5. Helmets to be worn all time while riding during the race.
  6. Reflective Jackets to be worn by riders during evening and early morning hours.
  7. A Rider must carry a toolkit as required by bike category (Optional) and a mini pump (Optional).

Registration fees includes:

  1. Participation Fees.
  2. Transportation of Cycles back to Delhi.
  3. Transportation in AC coach from Timber Trail to New Delhi.
  4. Technical Support, Safety and security support, First aid support, food and refreshments during the ride.

Registration fees does not include:

  1. Stay at Timber Trail.
  2. Post Ride Celebration expenses.
  3. Any personal expenses paid by the rider during the ride.
  4. Any expense not mentioned in the section "Registration Fees includes".
